AI for CAs, Accountants and Finance Teams

Season time or not, a practice runs on writing: client emails, opinion drafts, engagement letters, and endless Excel. This workshop shows you how AI takes the first draft off your plate so your time goes into judgment, not typing. You will draft real emails and letters, fix real spreadsheet problems, and summarise real circulars, with one discipline throughout: every summary is verified against the source, and no client-identifying data ever goes into AI. Built for practitioners who bill by the hour and are rightly sceptical of shortcuts.

Day by day

Exactly what happens in these 5 days

No vague promises. Open each day and see what you will learn and the real thing you will make.

Day1

First drafts in minutes, not hours

Get hands-on with AI fast and put client communication on autopilot drafts

  • First working session with ChatGPT and Gemini within 30 minutes
  • The confidentiality rule from minute one: no client names, PANs, financials or identifiers into AI
  • Drafting client emails: document reminders, fee follow-ups, explaining a notice in plain words
  • Setting tone: firm but polite, formal but human
  • Building your personal email template bank with placeholders

You make today: A template bank of five client emails you will actually send this month, fully anonymised

Day2

Opinions and notes: structure first

Use AI to build the skeleton of an opinion so your expertise fills it faster

  • Structuring a draft opinion: facts, issues, provisions to check, reasoning, conclusion placeholders
  • Why AI cannot be trusted on sections, case law and dates: live demonstration of confident errors
  • Using AI for language and structure while every legal reference comes from your own sources
  • Turning rough notes into a clean client-facing explanation
  • Rewriting dense technical language for a client who is not from finance

You make today: A structured draft note on an anonymised issue from your own practice, ready for your review layer

Day3

Excel help that actually helps

Formulas, reconciliations and cleanup with AI as your Excel assistant

  • Describing a spreadsheet problem so AI gives you the right formula
  • Lookups, SUMIFS, text cleanup and date problems, solved live on sample data
  • Getting AI to explain an inherited formula nobody in the office understands
  • A reconciliation helper workflow on dummy data: matching two lists and flagging gaps
  • When not to paste data into AI: using dummy data and structure descriptions instead

You make today: A working reconciliation helper sheet built on sample data, with a formula cheat sheet you wrote

Day4

Circulars, notifications and verification

Read more in less time, with a verification habit that protects your name

  • Summarising a GST circular or CBDT notification into key points, applicability and dates
  • Verifying every summarised point against the source document, line by line
  • Using NotebookLM to ask questions across multiple documents you upload
  • Building a weekly reading routine: summarise, verify, file
  • Common AI failure cases with legal text and how to catch them

You make today: A verified one-page brief of a recent circular relevant to your practice, with a source-check log

Day5

Proposals, engagement letters, visibility

Win and onboard clients faster, and market your practice within the rules

  • Drafting a proposal: scope, deliverables, timelines and assumptions
  • Engagement letter templates you can reuse and adapt per client
  • Practice visibility within professional norms: knowledge posts, client education notes
  • A one-page firm profile designed with Gamma or Canva
  • Your personal AI usage policy: what your firm allows, what it never does

You make today: A complete proposal plus engagement letter template pair, and a one-page firm profile

Outcomes

Walk out able to do this

  • Draft clear client emails for common situations: reminders, document requests, explanations of notices
  • Structure a draft opinion or note with issues, provisions to check and a reasoning skeleton
  • Get Excel formulas written, explained and debugged, including lookups and reconciliation helpers
  • Summarise a circular or notification with AI, then verify every point against the source text
  • Write proposal and engagement letters from reusable templates you built yourself
  • Create simple marketing material for your practice within professional norms
  • Apply a confidentiality rule for client data in every AI workflow you use

Honest answers

Questions people actually ask

Can I trust AI with tax law and section numbers?

No, and this course never asks you to. AI regularly invents sections, dates and case law with full confidence. We use AI for drafting, structure and summaries, and every legal reference gets verified against the bare act, circular or your own library.

What about client confidentiality?

It is the first rule we teach and it never bends: no client names, PANs, financial figures or identifying details go into any AI tool. All workflows use placeholders, templates and dummy data. You add real details in your own files, outside AI.

I am comfortable in Excel already. Will the Excel day be too basic?

The day is not about learning Excel, it is about using AI to work faster in it: getting formulas written and explained, debugging inherited sheets, and building reconciliation helpers. Even strong Excel users tell us this changes their daily routine.

Will this work during peak filing season when I have no time?

The course is 2 hours a day for exactly this reason, and everything you build is meant for immediate use. That said, if a batch falls in your busiest weeks, ask us about the next batch. The material works year-round.
